Getting a Working Holiday Visa

After nearly two years since the New Zealand Working Holiday Scheme (WHS) for offshore applicants was suspended, we are pleased to see this lifted, prompting people to travel again amidst our new ‘normal.’ Spaces for the Working Holiday Scheme have recently become available, and visas are expected to be issued progressively until September 2022.

On an overcast morning in spring 2018, OrbitProtect was alerted to a tragic road accident. One of our policyholders was struck by a car while crossing a busy road in Christchurch, along with two other pedestrians. She sustained critical injuries and was taken to Christchurch Hospital by ambulance.

It was back in September 2019 when we received a call from one of our policyholders, saying he was in the hospital. He needed to know if he was able to make a claim. The doctors could not say how long he needed to be in hospital, making him feel anxious, not knowing if he could afford the cost of treatment or if insurance can cover any, if not all, his medical expenses. We learned later that he had a rare neurological disorder called Guillain-Barre Syndrome.
