What’s the difference between an affiliate, an agent and a producer?

Our affiliates are usually travel writers or bloggers who create content on their websites about travel to New Zealand and are able to easily include text links or banners to the OrbitProtect website, using their unique affiliate tracking code. Affiliates receive a commission payment for every sale that results from someone clicking through to OrbitProtect using their link.

OrbitProtect also works with producers and agents who might be schools, education agencies, or financial advisors. Producers and agents sign a contract with OrbitProtect to sell our International Student, Working Holiday, or Experience NZ insurance to their clients on our behalf, in exchange for commission payments.

Affiliate FAQ

How much can I earn?

Our affiliate programme pays commission based on the rates set out in your agreement with us. For example, if you sell one of our policies worth $150 you will earn $15 if we have agreed to pay a commission of 10%! There is no minimum payment threshold and you can request payment every 30 days if your account is in credit.

How do I see my earnings?

We provide an affiliate dashboard where you can find detailed reports of your earnings. You can log in at any time to see your progress.

Will my site be accepted?

Most sites will be accepted into our programme. However, OrbitProtect has sole and absolute discretion as to the suitability of any referring website. We are looking for affiliate partners who create quality content that is relevant to international travellers wanting to travel to New Zealand to study, visit or work.

How do I get paid?

We will generate a commission invoice for you each month, and will make payments to your nominated bank account.

It’s important you make sure your bank account details are correct, along with confirmation of whether you are GST registered in NZ (if yes, make sure to provide your GST number).

You can see this in your affiliate portal. Note that if you have a non-New Zealand bank account, we may pay you less frequently to minimise foreign exchange fees for you. If you have any questions about your payment, you can contact us at [email protected].
