New Zealand’s stunning scenery and the country’s relaxed lifestyle have made a South Korean family’s stay in New Zealand a rewarding experience.

Minhee Kim and her three daughters came to New Zealand in June 2015 so her children could learn English by attending school in New Zealand. The family is living in Tauranga, a coastal city in the Bay of Plenty in the North Island.

Minhee says the family chose to come to New Zealand as its schools provide good learning environments and because it is considered a safe place to live. 

“Also, I wanted to experience New Zealand’s natural environment with my children.”

 “I’ve also been to Taupo three times. The big and clear lake relaxes my mind so Lake Taupo is one of my favourite places to visit. I also like the Huka Falls.”

Minhee says she enjoys New Zealand’s natural surroundings, and the scenery around Tauranga is one of the reasons the family chose to live in that city.

“People are friendly and there is green grass every season, and the fact I can see clear blue skies and stars at night mesmerises me.”

One of the things Minhee found different from her home country is New Zealand’s small population. She thinks this may be why people in New Zealand are so relaxed and friendly.

Minhee says she “definitely” recommends New Zealand to others considering visiting the country.

“The clean environment will attract those with a positive attitude.”
