Claim Tips

We have put together some tips to help you with your insurance claims.

Making a Claim for the First Time

  • If it is your first time submitting a claim to us, you must first register as new user on our online claim system
  • Go to www.orbitprotect.com, click on making a claim located on top right hand of the home page.
  • On the claims page login page, click on "Register Account" located on bottom left hand of the login box.
  • Enter your relevant details such as your name, your email address, your own secret password, date of birth etc. (Note: your registered email address will be used for your login).
  • Once registered, all future claims can be submitted using your registered account. You will not need to register again even if you have new policies with us in the future.
  • When submitting claims, always make sure you answer all the required questions on the claim form and attach the appropriate documents related to your claims.

Making Subsequent Claims

  • Go to www.orbitprotect.com, click on making a claim located on top right hand of the home page.
  • Login using your previously registered email address and password.
  • When submitting claims, always make sure you answer all the required questions on the claim form and attach the appropriate documents related to your claims.

General Tips

  • We are unable to process your claims without the appropriate documentations attached.
  • All claim forms must be completed in English.

Medical Claim

  • It is important that each claim submission must pertain to only one illness/injury/accident. i.e. one claim submission for one medical event.
  • Request medical notes from your doctor to help speed up your claim process.
  • All the invoices that you attach to your online claim must include a GST number.
  • If you need surgery or hospitalisation, register and make a claim online for pre-approval. We recommend that you request a pre-approval at least five working days prior to surgery or hospitalisation to help you avoid uncertainty about whether your claim will be covered or not.

Property Claim

  • To prove ownership of your stolen or lost property, kindly attach scans or images of your receipts/invoices. Please ensure you have the original receipts/invoices on hand (including those that were issued overseas) in case we request that you post them to us.
  • If your receipts/invoices have been lost/misplaced/disposed of, send in the remaining accessories of your lost/stolen items, such as manuals, adaptors, photos of the items, cases etc. Specify your claim number on the envelope or parcel when you post these to us.
  • You must not dispose of any accessories or items that you wish to claim for.

Burglary, Theft or Lost Property Claim

  • Notify the police immediately and obtain a police report.
  • If items have been lost, advise the place where the items were lost if possible. For example: transport operators, shopping mall customer service, etc.
  • Provide as much description as possible on the property you are claiming for. For example: if claiming for a laptop provide brand name, model and date of purchase.

Electronic Goods (e.g. laptops, camera etc) Claim

  • If claiming for a damaged laptop, we will organize for a repairer to assess the condition and cost of repairing or replacing your laptop.
  • If claiming for lost electronic goods, please send any remaining accessories, such as the charger, manuals, etc. Specify your claim number on the envelope or parcel when you post these to us.
  • If claiming for damaged electronic goods (not including laptops/computers), please obtain and attach a written report on the damage (must include cause and resulting damage) as well as a repair quote when you submit your claim online.
  • If the repairer advises the item is not repairable, please send us the damaged item, including all accessories, and the damage report. Specify your claim number on the envelope or parcel when you post these to us.

Liability Claim

  • Never admit liability.
  • Advise the third party to submit a claim to their insurance company.
  • If the third party refuses to submit the claim to their insurance company or if they are not insured, provide your claim details to them and have them contact us.
